VIPatron allows admins to send attendees a private link to purchase tickets specifically selected for them.
Once a VIPatron is created, the selected tickets are held for 24 hours, giving the attendee time to complete their purchase before the tickets are automatically released back to the public.
Creating a VIPatron Order
1. From the Project page, depending on Project Type, select:
Buy Tickets
Rent Stream
Purchase
2. Select the attendee’s preferred date from the Date Dropdown Menu at the top.
3. Add tickets to the cart:
- For General Admission or Streaming events, select the number of tickets and click Checkout.
- For Reserved Seating events, select the attendee’s seats and choose the ticket price. You'll see the tickets populate in the cart.
4. Scroll down to Transaction Options.
5. From Payment Method, select VIPatron.
6. Choose Add Customer Information.
7. Choose Checkout in the lower right to send the VIPatron. If it is grayed out, additional information is required to send the VIPatron.
How Long Are VIPatron Tickets Held?
VIPatron tickets are held for 24 hours from the time the order is created.
If the attendee does not complete their purchase within that timeframe:
- The tickets are automatically released back into the public inventory
The original VIPatron link will no longer reserve those tickets for the attendee
Important: The URL can only be clicked once by the attendee. If the attendee clicks the URL, reviews their cart, and decides to pay later, the URL will no longer be available. They need to be ready to pay when the URL is selected; otherwise, you'll need to issue another VIPatron.
Reserved Seating Visibility
For Reserved Seating events:
- VIPatron seats within their active 24-hour hold window will display as pink seats on the seating chart.
- When an admin selects one of these seats, the attendee’s name associated with the VIPatron will be displayed.
This helps staff quickly identify seats currently being held through VIPatron.
In the example below, Back Right, Row R, Seat 2 is currently being held as a VIPatron seat. If the attendee does not complete their purchase, the hold will automatically expire after 24 hours.
$0 Restriction
VIPatron cannot be used to distribute fully complimentary ($0) orders. You can include complimentary $0 tickets alongside tickets with associated prices.
Please note:
- This restriction applies to the overall cart total, not individual tickets.
- Admins may still include complimentary tickets in a VIPatron cart as long as the cart also contains at least one paid ticket.
If you wish to distribute only complimentary tickets, those tickets should be processed directly as complimentary tickets rather than through VIPatron.
