You can connect mobile devices to OBS to utilize their cameras.
While not free, it's very inexpensive and cheaper than purchasing new camera(s). Please note, this only works with the mobile device hardwired to the computer using OBS. A 30' cable has been tested with success. If you are looking for longer runs or wireless you will need to use NDI (advanced).
To connect mobile devices as cameras, see the steps below.
- Download the plugin for OBS on the computer and download the App onto the mobile device.
- You are NOT using the mobile device's native camera app.
- You MUST open the app you downloaded and use the camera within that app.
- Don't forget to set your mobile device to Do Not Disturb.
