Access practice RTMP streaming credentials and event-specific RTMP credentials all in one convenient location. You can also preview your live stream directly from the same page where you select your RTMP credentials.
What is the difference between Practice RTMP Credentials and Event-date-specific RTMP Credentials?
- Practice credentials are for just that - practice. These are provided to test your local equipment setup, software, and internet speed before the first event date.
- We highly recommend doing this the days before your event.
- These do not need to be reset. You can stop streaming and restart as needed.
- Event-Date credentials will display your livestream to the attendees who purchase a ticket for that date/time.
- These do not need to be reset. You can stop streaming and restart streaming within your event streaming period.
- They are available starting 90 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Where do I find the Practice RTMP Credentials?
From your Project Landing Page, select the live stream's project poster.
Scroll down past the calendar to find your live stream credentials.
In the left column, look for "Practice Preview" and "Credentials" at the top of the dates (highlighted in blue).
On the right, above the preview player, click "Get Practice Live Stream RTMP Credentials".
- After selecting "Get Practice Live Stream RTMP Credentials", a pop-up will appear with the required information.
- Copy both the RTMP URL and Stream Key from the pop-up.
- Enter this information into your streaming or broadcast software. Make sure to use the Copy button to ensure the credentials are copied accurately.
Why are the RTMP credentials grayed out?
If your RTMP credentials are grayed out, this indicates we need a W9 from your organization.
How long can I use my practice credentials?
You can stream to the practice credentials for up to 4 hours continuously. If you stop your practice stream, you can use the same RTMP credentials to resume streaming without resetting them.

Important Note: Whitelisting Domains
If your network blocks certain domains, CUR8 streams may fail to load. To ensure smooth playback, ask your IT team to whitelist the following:
*.cur8.com
*.vimeo.com
*.vimeocdn.com
*.google.com
*.pndsn.com
*.googleapis.com
*.firebaseio.com
Whitelisting these domains allows CUR8 streaming to work as intended.
How long can a Live Stream last for an event-specific date?
- You can stream into this key for up to 4 hours.*
- Please note that while your streaming credentials are available 90 minutes before your event, attendees can begin viewing your live stream up to 60 minutes before the scheduled start time. Many organizations go live 15-20 minutes early to give attendees time to troubleshoot their access.
*If your event is longer than 4 hours, please contact us at least 24 hours before your event start time.
How can I view my Live Stream when I'm broadcasting live?
On your project's landing page, you can view the preview stream player in the same place as the RTMP credentials.
- Make sure you're viewing the preview player for the correct date.
- Select "Start Watching" to begin to view the stream. The stream will not automatically show a preview.
CUR8 Tip: We strongly recommend monitoring your live stream event through the box office live stream player for the entire event. This ensures you see exactly what your attendees are viewing and hearing, as the local feed on your streaming device may differ from the broadcast.
To avoid technical issues, use a different device to preview your stream than the one used for streaming.
