Setting Up Roles on a Project

What is a Role?

A Role represents a person's function, position, or responsibility within a Project. This could be their job, assignment, or participation in an event, production, or team. Roles are created within a Project and cannot exist independently.

How do I create a Role for a Project?

  • From the Project Landing Page, select the hamburger menu on the Project Poster to which you want to add a role.
  • Select Roles from this menu.

  • This will take you to the Roles page, where you can add Roles to your project.
  • On the Roles Page, in the top right corner, select the Add Role button.

  • A new field for Role Name will appear like below. Once you start typing in the Role Name, a new Role Name field will appear underneath for the next role.

  • Once you've added Roles, you can assign People to those Roles by selecting "People".
  • Before leaving the page, make sure to save your roles by clicking the Save button in the lower right.

 

How to Delete a Role?

To delete a Role, select the trash can to the right of the Role.

 

How to Adjust the Sort Order of Roles?

You can adjust the sort order of Roles by clicking and holding the six-dot icon and dragging each Role to its new order location.

How to assign a Person to a Role?

  • Select People next to the Role to view the list of individuals connected to your organization.
  • Check the box next to a person to assign them to the role.
  • You can assign multiple people to a role if needed, such as for an understudy.
  • Use Groups to create collections of roles, allowing you to maintain roles at the individual level.
  • If you don't see someone you need to assign, invite them to join CUR8!
