What is an organization's Join Code?
Your unique Join Code connects people to your organization’s community on CUR8.
It allows your students, staff, performers, and volunteers to join your organization so you can organize, communicate, and manage them efficiently.
A Join Code is created and chosen by your organization. We recommend selecting one that can be used repeatedly and is clearly intended for your organization, such as a name or abbreviation.
- Join Code is Alphanumeric.
- Join Code can have the following 4 symbols:
_-!@ - Join Code cannot have spaces.
Why It Matters
The Join Code unlocks everything CUR8 can do. Get the most out of CUR8.
Once your people are connected:
- You can assign them to roles, schedule them, communicate with ease and transparency, connect them to projects, and more.
- When you communicate with everyone through CUR8 messages, there is message moderation and transparency for all administration.
- You can manage your entire community in one place without repeated sign-ups for each project or event.
- Over time, your organization builds a connected network of members you can engage for performances, fundraisers, and future seasons.
CUR8 Tips
-
Make joining part of your kickoff routines.
At the start of each school year, season, or project, share your Join Code (or QR code) with everyone who is involved. -
The sooner everyone joins, the faster you can get organized.
Having everyone registered early means you can assign roles, build schedules, and send notifications right away.
How to Find Your Organization’s Join Code
Only Organization Admins can view or change the Join Code. The organization sets the Join Code and is not created by CUR8.
Select the Organization Menu (top left of the page).
- Choose your Organization.
- Go to Preferences / Settings > Options.
- Your Join Code is listed at the top.
- Join Codes are alphanumeric and can include these four symbols:
_-!@(no spaces allowed).
Who do I give the Join Code to?
We would recommend that you share your Join Code with everyone in your organization.
The goal is to get everyone who works with or participates in your organization to join CUR8: Administrators, teachers, students, parents/guardians, artistic directors, coaches, board of directors, cast members, tech crew, dancers, and athletes.
How People Join Your Organization
You can share your Join Code in several ways:
- Using the provided QR code
- With your custom Join URL
- Or by manually entering the Join Code
To join:
- Go to cur8.com/join.
- Create a CUR8 account (or log in if they already have one).
- Enter your organization's Join Code to connect.
If they already have an account with CUR8, they can also connect to your organization from their Person Detail page using the same code. Once they are connected, they are part of your organization’s community and will not need the code again. They will be associated with your Organization unless you need to remove a Person or they choose to remove themselves.
What Happens After They Join
When a Person joins your organization:
- They get their own CUR8 login and Person Detail page.
- They are automatically added as a Participant (you can change their permissions later on a per-project basis).
- You can now see them on your People page, assign them to roles on projects, manage their schedule, and communicate with them directly.
They can update their own headshot, bio, and contact information, reducing administrative work for you.
Is a Person automatically assigned to a Project?
No.
They have joined your Organization and community, not a Project. No one is automatically connected to a Project. You'll need to connect individual people to Projects by assigning them to a Role.
Understanding Joining CUR8 and the Join Code
The Join Code lets people join your organization quickly and manage their own information, reducing the admin work for you. You can share it with one person or a whole group, then organize members into Roles and Groups.
Once someone joins, they are a permanent part of your community and only need to register once, no matter how many projects you create. Over time, this builds a growing network of participants that you can communicate with and manage efficiently.
CUR8 Tips:
Have all participants, staff, volunteers, and other community members sign up at the start of the school year or season.
Early registration allows faster assignment to Roles and Groups, and saves time using CUR8 scheduling and notifications.
