What is a Communication?
A Communication in CUR8 is a message that connects you with your community, whether it’s one person, a group, or everyone. It keeps people informed, engaged, and empowered to take action. Use it to share updates, reminders, feedback, or announcements, and they can be delivered via SMS, email, or both, so your people always stay in the loop.
What types of Communications are there?
- Public Communication: Sent to one or more groups or multiple recipients. Recipients can reply to create a threaded conversation. Examples: rehearsal updates, game reminders, schedule changes.
- Private Communication: Sent to a specific person. Replies create a private conversation thread, meaning only those on the thread can respond. Examples: costume fittings, personal reminders, feedback messages. While these are private conversations, they are still visible to all account admins.
- Announcement: A broadcast message that does not allow replies, ideal for organization-wide updates, marketing, or information that does not require responses.
- Notes Sets: These are the comments created from a Film Review and shared with the associated participants. Recipients cannot reply.
How are Communications moderated?
- All Communications are moderated by organization admins who have been selected for this role.
- Anyone can report a Communication as offensive.
- Reported Communications are immediately removed and moved to the Moderation area until a moderator confirms whether the content follows the organization’s guidelines.
This is the Moderation area on CUR8 Communication. The message below was reported as offensive. It can be marked as inappropriate or appropriate.
- If marked as "appropriate", it will return to the message thread.
- If it is marked as "inappropriate", it will be deleted/removed.
How is a Communication delivered?
CUR8 Communications can be used for free by having students check the Communications section of CUR8, similar to a call board.
If you want to send Communications as Notifications proactively, they are delivered via each recipient’s preferred contact, either SMS, email, or both. You cannot override a person’s preferred contact method. There is no character limit, so messages can be short or detailed.
Sending Communications as Notifications requires CUR8 Credits. One credit equals one message. Credits can be accrued through ticket sales by enabling CUR8 Credit at checkout, or purchased a la carte.
